Borderlands Game Review

This game is produced by “Gearbox”. It is a brand new game with no prequel, the first of it’s series. It is classified as an RPG (Role Playing Game)/ FPS (First Person Shooter) which makes it very alike “Fallout 3″ by “Bethesda”

Gameplay- In “Borderlands”, you begin on a bus. Before you even start playing, you have to pick your player type; a hunter, siren, soldier, or berserker. Each character has its own perks. For example; the Hunter uses a sniper rifle and revolvers over any other weapons. The controls are very basic and simple, you could actually pick up and play no matter what game(s) you normally play. Also, while doing missions, there is a guide/ map that shows you which direction you need to be going. Although there are some good things in this game, there are some bad and the worst thing about this game, which also may be good for other gamers, is that you can’t really follow the storyline because there isn’t one. The game consists of talking to a random person, doing what they tell you, coming back, getting money, and repeating. The great part about this game is that you can’t have all of the guns without cheating or playing for a very long time. Overall, the actual gameplay for this game is quite entertaining.

Graphics- This game is possibly the first to ever stray from the mainstream high definition, realistic graphics. Instead, they put a certain shadow emphasis on inanimate objects and made muscles and body parts sort of pop. It seems as if the developers decided to skip a step in editing the graphics purposely to make this game unique. The character you play as, as well as your friends character, is very limited in customization. You can change colors of clothing but that’s all. Also, you can only choose from 6- 10 colors depending on what article of clothing you are editing. Depending on how you feel about the graphics, good or bad, can effect whether or not you will like this game. Personally, I enjoyed the games uniqueness, so I played it through for a bit.

Buy, Rent, Pass- Rent. I can’t really say whether or not certain people will like this game because it is a new series without any background (game, movie, book, etc.). I can say that if you need a change of pace from “Left for Dead 2″, “Modern Warfare 2″, or any newly released game, then you probably should rent this one. Chances are that you will not beat this game in the time that you are able to rent it unless you don’t need to sleep or eat to function. If after you return the game from renting and you want to buy it, then go ahead. This game may or may not be worth the $60 to every gamer, I would wait for a price drop or buy it used if considering to buy this rpg/shooter.

Florida State Fair

Every February during the Florida State Fair, Cracker Country opens its gates to the Fair’s guests. Take a stroll back in time and relax as you take in the sights, sounds and smells of Florida’s history. Walk the museum grounds and visit with the costumed interpreters to take part in the customs of the past.
Take home a newspaper printed on an antique printing press right before your eyes, try a taste of real sugar cane and watch how its is juice is boiled into syrup. Visit the crafters and trade demonstrators throughout the museum grounds. See how tools were used in the early 1900s, and discover the art of spinning, woodcarving, blacksmithing and making cow whips in the time of Florida’s pioneers. End the afternoon with a bag of kettle corn, fresh beef jerky and a refreshing lemonade as you take in the sounds of traditional country music under a canopy of oak trees. Make sure to stop by the Cracker Country General Store to take home a souvenir of your visit.
Entrance to Cracker Country is included with your Florida State Fair admission. It will be here until February 15th, 2010. Make sure to come and be a part of the traditions of Florida’s history.

This Film will offer Jackson fans and music lovers worldwide a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the performer as he developed, created and rehearsed for his sold-out concerts that would have taken place beginning this summer in London’s O2 Arena. Chronicling the months from April through June, 2009, the film is produced with the full support of the Estate of Michael Jackson and drawn from more than one hundred hours of behind-the-scenes footage, featuring Jackson rehearsing a number of his songs for the show. Audiences will be given a privileged and private look at Jackson as he has never been seen before. In raw and candid detail, “Michael Jackson’s This Is It” captures the singer, dancer, filmmaker, architect, creative genius and great artist at work as he creates and perfects his final show. Kenny Ortega, who was both Michael Jackson’s creative partner and the director of the stage show is also directing the film, which is being produced by Randy Phillips, Kenny Ortega and Paul Gongaware. Executive producers are John Branca and John McClain. The film will be distributed worldwide by Sony Pictures Releasing. Oct 23- based on the popular series of books by Darren Shan, is a fantasy-adventure about a teenager who unknowingly breaks a 200-year-old truce between two warring factions of vampires. Pulled into a fantastic life of misunderstood sideshow freaks and grotesque creatures of the night, one teen will vanish from the safety of a boring existence and fulfill his destiny in a place drawn from nightmares.

16-year-old Darren (Chris Massoglia) was like most kids in his suburban neighborhood. He hung out with his best friend Steve (Josh Hutcherson), got decent grades and usually stayed out of trouble. But when he and his buddy stumble upon a traveling freak show, things begin to change inside Darren. That’s the exact moment when a vampire named Larten Crepsley (John C. Reilly) turns him into something, well, bloodthirsty.

Newly undead, he joins the Cirque Du Freak, a touring sideshow filled with monstrous creatures from a snakeboy and a wolfman to a bearded lady (Salma Hayek) and a gigantic barker (Ken Watanabe). As Darren flexes his newfound powers in this dark world, he becomes a treasured pawn between the vampires and their deadlier counterparts. And while trying to survive, one boy will struggle to keep their brewing war from devouring what’s left of his humanity.
